Kessy Dumba holds an MBA in Strategic Management & Leadership, a Human Resource Specialist and an Entrepreneur.  Her career spans over 40 years in the banking sector and FMCG Industry.  She is a devoted wife, mother of two daughters, and a grandmother of 3 granddaughters & 4 grandsons.

Akhona Qengqe was appointed in 2023 as the first Black and first Female General Manager for KFC Africa, a business that spans 23 markets across Sub Sahara Africa. In her role she is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and overall operations of the USD1.5bn organization, working closely with the full leadership team, drivingprofitability and relevance for the business. She started at KFC in 2015 as a Development Director before moving into the role of Transformation and Diversity and Inclusion in 2017 and later becoming the Chief People and Transformation Officer, Africa in 2020 where she was responsible for developing and executing KFC’s global people strategy in support of the overall business’ strategic direction. Having been in the franchise industry for 18 years, Akhona has an impeccable understanding of what it takes to empower the most important aspect of any business – its people. She is proud to actively lead a culture that propels results and inspires employees and franchisees to see where they fit into the bigger picture of Yum! She believes that the business’ values should be something that employees can live by – a culture that fuels the business.

Akhona has also held various senior positions including Board Chair of the Franchise Association of South Africa and Head of Convenience Retail at Shell South Africa, to name a few. Being a fierce gender advocate, Akhona also founded the first ever women’s leadership development program for KFC Africa called Women on the Move. This program is aimed at accelerating the progression of women into senior and decision-making roles in the organization. In it’s 5th year running, WOM has produced top tier leaders for KFC. She also founded KFC’s first Academy that gives an opportunity to KFC employees to have a post Matric qualification, thereby opening up opportunities for advancement in their careers. She has not stopped there. As one who has built a career in franchising, she has seen the need to open up opportunities for women to participate meaningfully in this sector through establishing Women in Franchising Africa (WIFA) whose aim is to drive gender inclusion and economic transformation in franchising. This network is open to all women who wish to participate in franchising across Africa.

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Cape Town, a Marketing Certificate from the University of South Africa, a Critical Diversity Qualification from the University of Witwatersrand and is an alumni at the Oxford University and Harvard Business schools.

Monika Abigail Chanda is an Award winning Broadcast Journalist and hosts various radio and television current affairs programmes with speciality in business and politics. Host of the biggest current affairs television programme in the nation “Face The Nation” . An emcee, voice-over artist, and moderates a number of forums from business to media and many more. Passionate about social issues and community development, she also started an initiative “PutAChildThroughSchool” that helps children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Shalom Govero is a financial literacy expert based in Harare, Zimbabwe.

With eight years of experience in training personal finance, she has made a significant impact in the field. Her extensive content creation for over 200 radio shows and the training of more than 5000 participants on digital platforms showcase her expertise and dedication to spreading financial knowledge.

As a certified ILO Start and Improve Your Business national trainer, she has worked as a business coach for entrepreneurs under organizations such as ZADT, Zimtrade, AU-AIBAR and Stanbic Incubation Hub. As a Zimtrade consultant, she has been the anchor trainer since 2019, facilitating Financial Management sessions for SMEs preparing for export in Harare, Mutare and Masvingo.

Tadzie Madzima is an award-winning. Zimbabwean life coach who empowers and inspires individuals to live purpose-driven, authentic, bold, and courageous lives through self-awareness, acceptance, discovery, and living their purpose passionately. She is a servant leader, a firm believer in living with purpose, a champion for youth-led innovation and social change, and an advocate for women’s rights. Tadzie established IGNITE Youth to equip youth to create a vision and purpose for their lives, find meaningful careers, contribute positively to their communities and develop into the African leaders of today and tomorrow.

Growing up in a low-income household raised by a single mother, Tadzie experienced firsthand the lack of career guidance available, especially in government schools serving marginalized communities. This drove her to establish IGNITE Youth, where the organization offers comprehensive career guidance through a unique Purpose Curriculum, mentorship, and 9 holistic youth development programs.
